1959 “Prototype” Chatty Cathy From Mattel. REPAIRED TO TALK

Here we have an 1959 “prototype” Chatty Cathy doll from Mattel that has been repaired to talk again. She says the original 11 phrases. All are clear, but she does speak softly as the cloth speakers tend too. The Chatty Ring is original, but the string has been replaced so it is brand new. The string is beginning to fray, but doesn’t seem to be getting worse.
She is wearing the original red dress she came in, however her shoes are not original, but they do look cute on her. She has a ribbon tied in her hair to look like the original hair band. Her hair has been washed and is soft, clean, and a little shiny.
She does have a few imperfections as she is over 60 years old.
