painter's wooden palette,
complete with thumb hole and completely covered with old, dried, caked, textured oil paint. The colors graduate from warm to cool and light to dark along the curved perimeter margin of the antique wooden palette. The paint is also built up in specific areas, like mounds, which would have been the 'stations' where the artist would apply more oil paint to the palette from nearby lead wrapped oil paint tubes, most likely held in the cubby of the painter's wooden easel. The palette has signature and characteristic

styling and appears to have been made from
mahogany tropical hardwood,
being able to withstand being constantly soaked with the oil from the paint and from oil painting medium.
Not just for art lovers. Like a painting itself! Truly amazing and as if it was frozen in time or hermetically sealed for over a hundred years in a vacuum chamber. Incredible original, authentic, untouched condition. Now, which accomplished painter who may have used this, is anyone's guess. Extraordinary.
CONDITION:
Good to Very Good overall antique condition.
