Vintage Gray J Esterbrook Fountain Pen 1550 Nib ~ Works

This is a large, handsome Gray J Esterbrook fountain pen with a 1550 nib that works!
There is a stamp on the barrel -
Esterbrook – Made in U.S.A.
The pen’s measurement in closed position is approx. 5 inches.
The cap’s diameter is approx. 0.521 inch and the barrel’s is 0.468 inch.
The Nib number is 1550 (Firm Extra Fine – Accounting and Bookkeeping.
It is a lever feed system and the pen still works.
The ink sack still pliable and pen holds water. There are no chips or cracks to the black jewels found on the top and bottom of this pen.
There are no deep scratches, cracks, chips, splits or the dreaded teeth marks.
When looking through a loupe it does have everyday wear.
The black plastic nib holder some have some slight nicks.
This is a very good looking pen!!
The Esterbrook fountain pen is one of the most under rated pens in history!
These pens have stood up to time and still look marvelous!
