Basically, this is an extension cord harness, thus being called the "Jumper Harness", due to the very short 3" pigtail harness that they have coming out of the new ice maker head, Part# W11517113, that will not reach the freezer connector!

hat is why there is so much confusion and wrong ice makers with wrong harnesses being bought and not being able to install them. Whirlpool has not distributed the new parts diagrams and look-ups to all the parts houses yet, online or otherwise. It usually takes many months, to a year or so!
This is NORMAL for New Models!
, for the parts look-ups to finally become available for parts distributors, so the parts companies assume that the ice maker is the same on the previous Revision Model refrigerators and freezers, and tell you to buy that one, which is the wrong one. In this case, the Whirlpool made a drastic change in the ice maker, going back to the original old archaic, inferior gear drive ice maker, so looking it up from other model revisions is NOT going to get you the proper ice maker. But, the new parts diagram look-ups are not listed on anyone's parts lists, repair clinic, best buy, even Whirlpool, because Whirlpool has not distributed or possibly not even made the parts look-ups and they are not available yet, and won't be for some time, so there is no way to know, including calling Whirlpool directly, which ice maker is the proper one for the New Model Refrigerators and Freezers with the 5 Pin connector for the ice maker, in the freezer!
The Proper ice maker suggested by Whirlpool for the New Model Refrigerators is Part# W11517113
, that has the 5 pin connector "JUMPER HARNESS", with a male 5 pin connector on one end and a female 5 pin connector on the other end, not the flat connector they have been using for many years, for the Modular Ice Makers, on the other end.
